Unified Communication Part(3)

Today, as we all now have smart phones in our pockets, we can make video-call and file sharing easily. But mostly to do these various functions we have to use different applications on our phone. It is a waste of time to use different apps without mobility demand for the users. For Unified Communication (UC), we don’t need to worry about swapping features but instead we can get all the features of communication on this platform. So we will see which features are included in this UC application as follows.

‍‍‍‍‍‍The features of UC Technology are business messaging, present indicator, video call, voice call, web conferencing and file sharing. Other specific UC features are whiteboard sharing and recording. Firstly, we would like to talk about the good points of using business messaging. For example, if we got a project, we team up the project manager, engineer and account manager in a group. Everyone can know the current progress of the project while we are updating the project information in the group in real time. Since we are communicating in real time, there is quick response and can complete our tasks really fast. In our daily email, writing formally cannot make real time communication. Because we have shared all the files of the project in that group, we can easily find it altogether in one place. We may find a difficulty if we use email for that.

‍‍‍‍‍‍The other feature of UC is the present indicator. It shows the state of the person we would like to communicate with by showing busy, in the meeting or available. If the present indicator of his account shows that he is in the meeting and unavailable, we can know that we should rather send text messages than make a voice call which messes him up.

‍‍‍‍‍‍Another feature is instant call. Suppose that we need to make video call or voice call while we are business messaging .In our daily application, we need to go to that specific place to make call but In UC application, we just need a click to do all that including file sharing.

‍‍‍‍‍‍One apparent feature is whiteboard sharing. In a normal meeting we use a whiteboard and a pen to note the discussion of the team members. In UC application, we can use a whiteboard and a pen in the group chat to discuss things in the same way as a normal meeting.

‍‍‍‍‍‍The last feature is recording. If a team member is busy while other team members are on video conference meeting, we can record the video meeting for him. He can look back the information through the link, not missing anything and this makes the UC more reliable.
